About PJ

PJ Phillips is a licensed Realtor and Accredited Staging Professional Master (ASPM) who originates from Illinois, grew up in Indiana and attended the University of Louisville.  After spending the years from 1974 to 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, she relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan where she remained until 2010 when she returned to Columbus.  PJ has one daughter (Audra) who lives in this area and is married with two sons.

Licensed to practice real estate in Michigan and Ohio, PJ was the recipient of the 2006 Educational Achievement Award, presented by the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors in recognition of exceptional achievement in real estate education – the key to professionalism and success.  PJ developed her staging company in 2002.  PJ has studied with Barb Schwarz, creator of the home staging movement and author of several books about home staging.  She was chosen to be a part of a Staged Homes team to stage a home for a featured story on the weekend “Today Show” with Lester Holt.  Specializing in residential properties, PJ’s Staging provides home staging services to assist sellers (as well as agents and builders) in shortening the sales cycles and getting homes sold quickly.

Although PJ is not likely to consider herself a “domestic engineer,” admittedly her interests have always centered around the home.  Throughout the years she concentrated on all those components that refer to the home – she is a foodie (a person having an enthusiastic interest in the preparation and consumption of good food and wine), enjoys entertaining family and friends, artwork (loves pottery), decorating and gardening.  In addition to exercising creativity within a wide range of interests, she has always been one who understands the importance of a home that is organized, clean, decorative and comfortable while making its own distinctive statement.  This orientation has led her to be passionate about real estate profession and staging homes.

Prior to her real estate and staging careers, PJ served as a retail professional with expertise in retail space design, merchandise selection, display.  Several of the stores were recipients of national awards for excellence and were featured in retail design publications.

A recipient of the nationally recognized GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute) and ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation; she is also a Relocation Services Specialist.  Only three stagers in Ohio have earned the Master designation. PJ is one of them and she brings this talent and training to her many clients. PJ is a member of the Columbus Regional Chapter of Stagers (CIRC), International Association of Staging Professionals (IAHSP), the Columbus Board of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and the Council of Residential Specialists.
